Girl Online by Zoe Sugg Review

Girl Online: The First Novel by Zoella - Zoe Sugg

Goodreads Synopsis:

I had no idea GirlOnline would take off the way it has - I can't believe I now have 5432 followers, thanks so much! - and the thought of opening up to you all about this is terrifying, but here goes...

Penny has a secret.

Under the alias GirlOnline, she blogs about school dramas, boys, her mad, whirlwind family - and the panic attacks she's suffered from lately. When things go from bad to worse, her family whisks her away to New York, where she meets the gorgeous, guitar-strumming Noah. Suddenly Penny is falling in love - and capturing every moment of it on her blog.

But Noah has a secret too. One that threatens to ruin Penny's cover - and her closest friendship - forever.

Review:

I really enjoyed this book! It started off quite slow and took a while for the story to pick up but once it did I couldn't put it down!

So we have Penny our main protagonist, a clumsy, socially awkward girl who blogs about her unfortunate mishaps online. Although I doubt anyone could really be as accident prone as she is her character was quite relatable. I loved her family and the relationship she had with her parents as they were good parents while being fun and quirky. Then there's Noah the gorgeous, guitar playing, love interest. Although their relationship was very 'insta-love' I still loved it and was rooting for them big time <3

I heard Zoe say that this story is a mixture of fact and fiction and I couldn't help but wonder throughout reading this what aspects of Penny were a reflection of Zoe and which were made up. I also heard that there's going to be a sequel which I am so happy about as we definitely need more after that ending.

I love Zoe Sugg and her YouTube videos and I have to say this was a really great story for her first novel. It was cute, entertaining, and overall a light, easy read, People will love to hate on this book just because she wrote it but I think Zoe should be proud of her achievement and the success that she's had :)
