Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry Review

Nowhere But Here - Katie McGarry

Goodreads Synopsis

Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she's curious about her biological father - the one
who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent - but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.

Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They're the good guys. They protect people. They're…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member—is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.

No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.

Once again Katie McGarry managed to create a story that captivated me from the beginning! Oz and Emily <3

I don't know what I was expecting from this story but that definitely was not it and I say that in a good way. I guess I was expecting the motorcycle club to be rough and dangerous but instead found the opposite. They would lay their life on the line for those they cared about and family doesn't just mean blood related. The bond and respect they have for each other was really inspiring.

I loved all the characters especially Olivia. She was so strong and always told the truth even if it wasn't what they wanted to hear. Her love for Oz and vice versa was so sweet :') Eli was another character that although Emily didn't have many warm feelings towards her biological father, I liked him from the start. Although he lied a lot in order to hide his past from her, it was clear from the beginning that he would do anything for his daughter and loved her so much! I don't know why but Violet reminded me of Tyra from 'Friday Night Lights' as I felt they had a similar fiery personality, it kind of made me like her more :P And then there's Oz *swoon* He's a tough guy but has a heart of gold! Another fictional character of Katie McGarry's you can't help but fall in love with <3

The addition of a playlist to the end of Katie's books that represent the theme, characters, or scenes from the book just add to the feeling of the story coming to life!

I loved this book so much and I cannot wait for the next book in this series as I'm pretty sure I would read Katie McGarry's shopping list and love it! :)
